How can I cope with a loss?
We all go through losses, some worse than others. Sometimes, we lose someone close to us tragically and unexpected. In other situations, we can prepare our selves for someone's death, but when it happens, we’re still at a loss for words. There is no proper way to grieve. In fact, many people suffering a loss grieve in stages. Some of us lose a parent, a child or a friend and can’t seem to ever stop mourning the loss. When you make an appointment with one of our therapists or counselors you’ll be in a safe space to express all of your fears, worries, and concerns. Although you may never be able to get over the lost of your loved one, our therapists will help you accept and understand what happened. During your confidential therapy sessions, your counselor can provide you with techniques for anxiety, depression and many more.
Bereavement counseling can take place one on one, as a couple or a family/group session. Your therapist can track your progress and see if you are a candidate for medical treatment. In addition, counselors and therapists can recommend support groups for you and your family to go to. These support groups help you make connections with our people going through the same thing. Knowing you are not alone is the most important part of grieving. Mental Health providers are trained in this area and can give you all the resources you may need during this very difficult time.
